7-12-10 Gettin Bombed

Sometimes while out in the wild, things happen that you aren't really expecting. Last week we were on a trip and all was going well enough. The fish seemed to be active and the weather was perfect. As we made our way into one of the many cuts off the Basin we got a welcome that neither of us expected. No more then 8 feet away from our kayaks an eruption so fierce and so violent took place, that for an instant I feared for all things that were good in this world. As the waves settled and the froth dissipated, an osprey emerged from the waters depths like a mythological beast. All we could do was watch as it slapped its wings a few times on the liquid landing pad before it was air born. After a good laugh all we could do was laugh some more. Here's a picture of the Tomoka Basin Bomber himself.
